Using Persate

Every Persate module sits in the same frame: the sidebar on the left, the header with help and account controls at the top, and the module in the main area. On a phone, a dock at the bottom of the screen replaces both. The entries shown depend on the features enabled for the organization, the user's role and the Labs assigned to the user.

Sidebar

Two actions sit at the top of the sidebar:

• Upload — opens the upload panel for Repository files. It is shown when the Repository is enabled for the organization.
• Search — opens global search. See Search and notifications.

The navigation below them is grouped as follows:

An entry appears only when its feature is enabled for the organization, and a group without entries is hidden. Labs is a collapsible section at the bottom of the sidebar; it appears only when at least one Lab is assigned and remembers whether it was left expanded. A page opened directly when the organization's plan does not include it shows This feature is not included in your plan. Hidden entries are a convenience only: access is checked again whenever data loads.

The button at the left end of the header collapses the sidebar to a rail of icons and expands it again; Ctrl+B (⌘B on a Mac) does the same. Inside a module, a bar above the page shows the group and the module and, on a detail page, the path to the open record; the module name then links back to the module's main page.

In a browser on Windows or macOS, Download at the bottom of the sidebar downloads the Persate desktop app. In the desktop app for Windows, Update ready appears there when a new version is ready; selecting it restarts Persate to install the update.

Header

The left side of the header holds the sidebar button, the help button, the Go back and Go forward arrows and the Persate wordmark. On a page that has a guide, the help button is Guide & FAQ and opens that page's guide (see Interactive tutorials); elsewhere it is Open documentation, which opens this documentation in a new tab in the interface language.

The right side holds:

• the theme switch, which toggles between light and dark and saves the choice to the account; Settings → Preferences → Appearance also offers following the system setting;
• Feedback;
• Announcements and Messages — two feeds with unread counters, described in Search and notifications;
• the account menu (the avatar), which shows the display name and email address and offers Account settings, Preferences and Log out.

Notices from the Persate team can appear as bars above the header, and a bar also appears when the connection is lost or data loads unusually slowly. See Search and notifications.

Sending feedback

Feedback sends a rating, comments and screenshots to the Persate team.

1. Select Feedback in the header.
2. Optionally add screenshots under Upload visuals: drag them in, pick files or paste them with Ctrl+V. PNG and JPG images are accepted, up to ten.
3. Choose a rating from 0 to 5 under How was your experience? A rating is required.
4. Describe the experience under Your feedback and select Submit feedback.

Settings

The account menu opens Account settings or Preferences directly. While settings are open, the sidebar lists the settings pages instead of the modules:

• PERSONAL — Account, Security & Privacy, Notifications, Preferences;
• PLATFORM — Sources;
• ORGANIZATION — General, Members, Groups & permissions, Usage & plan, External providers, Experimental features. Members, Groups & permissions and Usage & plan are listed only for organization administrators.

Back to app at the top of the settings sidebar returns to the last page visited, or to the Cockpit. See Account and settings, Sources and Administration.

On a phone

On a phone, the sidebar and the header are replaced by a dock at the bottom of the screen. It holds buttons for the Cockpit, search, upload (when the Repository is enabled) and the profile, which opens Settings, plus a menu button that lists every available module. On conversation screens such as Advisor, the dock shrinks to a single menu button so that it does not cover the message field.

• Page filters open from a filter button as a panel over the page.
• In Settings, the top bar shows Back to app, the page name and Sections, which opens the list of settings pages.
• Announcements, Messages and Feedback are in the header, which is shown on larger screens.
• Persate on a phone works in portrait orientation. In landscape it shows Portrait mode only until the phone is turned upright.

Access messages

• This feature is not included in your plan — the organization's plan does not include the module. Contact an organization administrator to extend the plan.
• Access Denied — the account is not assigned to a Persate organization, or an account without the administrator role opened organization management pages. An invited user should open the invitation link from the email; otherwise ask an organization administrator for an invitation or a role change.
• Sign-in check unavailable — Persate could not confirm the session and loaded no data. Select Try again after a moment.
