Analysis status

What the availability and analysis states of a recording mean — unavailable video, queued and running analyses, automatic recovery, empty and partial results — and which action each state offers.

The analysis panel of a recording always shows the current state of the analysis (Recording Analysis). When a result is ready, the panel shows the transcript; otherwise it explains what is happening and, where something can be done, offers the action. The same states appear as icons in the list; see Recordings.

Recording availability

Persate checks whether the original video is still available from its source. When it is not, the list shows a grey circle and the recording view shows a badge above the player:

BadgeMeaning
Persate onlyThe original recording is unavailable; the player plays the copy saved in Persate.
Persate only · PartialAs above, but the saved copy covers only part of the recording.
Video unavailableThe original recording is unavailable; Persate will check again automatically.
Video unavailable · StaleThe original recording is unavailable and automatic retrieval has stopped.

In every case the saved analysis, including the transcript, remains accessible. When there is no video to play, the player area shows Video unavailable with the same explanation. The Recording availability filter in the list uses the corresponding states: Persate only, Unavailable and Stale unavailable.

Playback and loading problems

  • Playback unavailable — the video stream could not be prepared for playback. Retry playback tries again.
  • Details aren't ready yet or Failed to load details — the details of the recording could not be loaded. Try again reloads them.

Before and during the analysis

What the panel showsMeaning and action
Recording Analysis with Start analysisThe recording has not been analysed yet. Start analysis requests the full transcript, timeline and accompanying analysis.
The place in the analysis queueThe analysis is waiting for its turn and starts on its own. Cancel analysis, when offered, withdraws the queued request.
The processing stage and a percentageThe analysis is running. Parts of the transcript appear as soon as they are ready, under the strip Analyzing... N%.
A state such as retry scheduled or waiting for recording, with Next retry or Next checkThe analysis has stopped for a reason Persate resolves on its own. The button Automatic recovery scheduled is inactive because no action is needed.
Recording unavailableThe official source did not make a recording available for this event, so there is nothing to analyse.
Analysis is delayedThe analysis is taking longer than expected. Automatic recovery continues, and the notice shows the time of the last progress.

When the analysis gives no result

What the panel showsMeaning and action
A failure message with Retry analysisThe analysis could not finish. Retry analysis starts it again.
No transcript · Needs verification with Re-run analysisThe analysis finished but saved no transcript. This does not confirm that the recording had no speech. Re-run analysis analyses the recording again.
Analysis results are unavailable. The result files may have been lost. with Re-run analysisThe analysis was completed, but its results are no longer available. Re-run analysis produces them again.
Analysis results could not be loadedThe results exist but could not be loaded; Persate retries automatically.
No transcript from this eventThe content found in the recording came from another event and was removed after verification.

When an earlier result exists

A newer analysis attempt never hides the last verified result. A strip above the transcript reports the newer attempt while the earlier transcript stays readable (Showing the last verified result.):

  • A newer analysis is queued. — Cancel queued attempt withdraws it.
  • Analyzing a newer result... N% — the newer analysis is running.
  • An automatic retry or a failure — the strip describes it; after a failure, Retry starts the analysis again.
  • No transcript · Needs verification — Re-run analysis analyses the recording again.

Partial transcripts

A transcript can be partial — for example when the live analysis of a broadcast was interrupted or the full analysis has not been published yet. A notice above the transcript then says so (This is the last saved partial transcript. The recording has not been fully analyzed.). When no speech has been found so far, the panel shows No speech detected so far together with the point up to which the recording has been analysed.

Live broadcasts

  • Connecting to live stream — Persate is connecting to the broadcast; the analysis starts automatically.
  • Live stream unavailable — the broadcast could not be reached. Retry tries again.
  • Live stream is available — the proceeding can be watched; the transcript and speaker overlays appear once the analysis is connected.
  • Analysis failed — the live analysis could not finish. Retry analysis starts it again.
  • Scheduled — the proceeding has not started yet; the analysis will be available once it begins.

When Persate refuses an action

If Persate does not accept a start, a re-run or a cancellation, the reason appears next to the button, for example:

  • Too many analysis requests. Try again in a few minutes.
  • The recording source is unavailable, so the analysis cannot start.
  • The analysis is already running or cannot start for this recording.
  • The attempt has already started and can no longer be cancelled.
  • You cannot analyze this recording.
